Towable RVs for Sale

We don't sell this from a lot. RVBrokers is a buyer's agent, so we help you find, price, and negotiate this model wherever it is, and line up an inspection before you pay.

Travel trailers, fifth wheels, and toy haulers give you the most camper for the money — no motorhome engine to buy or service, and the freedom to unhitch and explore. Here's how to tow smart and buy right.

What is a towable RV?

What is a towable RV?

A towable RV has no engine of its own — you pull it with a truck or SUV. That single fact makes towables the most affordable way into RVing and the most flexible once you arrive: you drop the trailer at camp and keep your tow vehicle free to run to town, hit a trailhead, or go to dinner.

There are three main shapes. A travel trailer hitches to a ball on your bumper and ranges from tiny teardrops to 35-foot family bunkhouses. A fifth wheel connects to a hitch in the bed of a pickup, which tows more stably and frees up a roomy raised front bedroom — these are the towables full-timers love. A toy hauler adds a garage with a fold-down ramp for motorcycles, side-by-sides, or a mobile workshop.

Because there's no drivetrain to maintain, towables tend to cost less to own over time — but the math only works if you have the right tow vehicle and hitch, and you respect the weight ratings. Get those right and a towable delivers more space and value per dollar than any motorhome.

The honest read

Why buyers choose Towable RVs — and what to watch

What buyers love

  • Lowest cost of entry in RVing, and no motorhome engine to buy or service.
  • Unhitch at camp and keep your truck or SUV free to explore.
  • Enormous variety — from a teardrop you can tow with an SUV to a residential fifth wheel.
  • Fifth wheels live large, with a separate raised bedroom and tall ceilings.
  • Toy haulers carry the motorcycles, ATVs, or gear a motorhome simply can't.

What to watch

  • You need a tow vehicle rated for the loaded weight — and the correct hitch setup.
  • Towing and backing take practice; weight distribution and sway control matter.
  • Setup and leveling at camp is more hands-on than parking a motorhome.
  • Always check real loaded weights against your truck's ratings, not the brochure's dry weight.
Who it's for

Towables fit budget-minded buyers, families who want maximum space per dollar, and anyone who already owns a capable truck or SUV and would rather keep a separate vehicle to drive once they reach camp.

How we help

Buying or selling a towable RV? We work for you, not the lot

Whether you're buying or selling a towables, we sit on your side of the table. Our buyer's agent service finds the right one and negotiates the price down; our RV broker service sells the one you already own for the real retail number it's worth — not the wholesale figure a dealer offers on trade. Every used coach gets an independent inspection before money moves, and our mobile repair network keeps it running afterward. We never take your RV in on trade or sell one off a lot — we're paid to get you a good deal, not to move inventory.

Questions

Towable RVs — buyer FAQs

What's the difference between a travel trailer and a fifth wheel?
A travel trailer hitches to a ball behind your vehicle; a fifth wheel connects to a special hitch in a pickup bed. Fifth wheels tow more stably and have a roomy raised front bedroom, but require a capable truck. Travel trailers are lighter and can be towed by a wider range of vehicles.
What tow vehicle do I need?
It depends entirely on the loaded weight of the trailer — not the dry weight on the brochure. Matching trailer to truck (and using the right hitch and sway control) is exactly the kind of thing our buyer's agents sort out before you commit, so you don't end up dangerously over your ratings.
Do you inspect used towables?
Yes. Roof and seam leaks, soft floors, axle and brake wear, and delamination are the things that bite towable buyers. Our independent inspectors check all of it before you buy.
