Driveaway or towaway?
The right method depends on whether your RV drives itself and how far it is going. Here is the plain-English version.
A driver drives it there
For motorhomes that run and drive, a bonded driver gets in and drives your coach to the destination. It is usually the most affordable option for operable Class A, B, and C rigs.

It rides on or behind a truck
Travel trailers and fifth wheels are pulled by a properly rated truck. Non-running motorhomes ride on a specialized carrier. No miles are added, and it is the only option for anything that does not drive.

What RV transport actually costs depends on a few things.

Distance
Per-mile rates usually drop the farther you go, but total cost still rises with the miles between pickup and delivery.
Size and weight
Length, height, and weight decide which trucks and drivers can legally handle the load, and whether it needs a permit.
Drives or not
An operable motorhome can go driveaway. A non-runner or a trailer needs a towaway carrier, which changes the price.
Route and terrain
Mountain passes, wind corridors, and low-clearance routes add time and planning, especially for tall fifth wheels.
Season and timing
Spring delivery season out of the factories and the fall snowbird rush tighten capacity. Flexible dates cost less.
